This is such a beautifull bird and I have tried several times to get a shot of it. Those who have tried to photograph this bird know how difficult it is, since it never stays in the place, as soon as you stop your vehicle it runs. I got lucky when these 2 (male & female) where busy feasting on the sweet Mahua flowers that fall down from the trees in Tadoba. Mahua flowers are eaten by most animals and […]
Saw this leopard sitting on the hill, it rained last night and was very misty morning. He was growling and even though was very far could here it as if he was near. looked like a big male. it was too far to get any details so I decided to make a silhouette. I think it worked to my advantage. Photographed using a nikon d800 + nikkor 200-400vr.
Saw a group of 7 Dholes (Indian wild dogs) at Tadoba last week. Shot this one as it was running to catch up with the pack, another one running in the background. We were the only vehicle for some time so got a chance to position in the right direction. Photographed using nikon d800 +nikkor 200-400 vr + monopod.
Shot this young female tigress on the morning safari at Tadoba, She was the last to cross after her mother and 4 of her younger siblings (4-5 months). She seems to be from the earlier litter still hanging out with her mother and new siblings. It was fantastic to see them come out one after the other 6 tigers total. Photographed using nikon d800 + 200-400vr on bean bag. P.P on my laptop (not calibrated since a month).
Photographed this Gaur (largest oxen in the world, also known as Indian Bison) in Tadoba 2 weeks ago. Males can be very mascular and huge, some weighing more than a ton. Found this one in this beautiful patch of dry grass area with nice colorful background. I liked the overall colors of the leaves and the grass. Photographed using nikon d800 + nikkor 200-400vr + beanbag.
Photographed this Young Male about 4 yrs old known as the katejari male in Tadoba (TATR) 2 days ago on the afternoon safari. We heard the call saw it crossing the fireline (gaps in forest made to stop forest fires) he is known to use the same path so we knew he will come near the water hole so we waited and after some time there he was. he gently walked on the stones and touched the water gently to […]
It was fantastic to stay inside kanha forest, the weather was teasing us, it rained for some days and even though the atmosphere was great and misty, it was quite difficult to get any good animal sightings especially tigers. The weather got better on this particular day and we saw this young tiger cub in the kanha zone. Tiger in green is not often seen, the lush green surrounding works well here. Shot with a nikon d800 + nikkor 200400vr […]
Photographed this Harrier at sunset sitting on a acacia tree at Velavadar Sanctuary in Gujarat, unfortunately it was already late for the park gate timings and I had to do with just a quick shot. Apart from blackbucks, Neelgai, Wolfs, Hyenna this park is the worlds largest communal roosting site for Harriers. Photographed using a d300+200-400vr+monopod.

Photographed this tigress today morning at Rajbajra in Bandhavgarhs Tala zone. This female also known as rajbahra tigress as she is often seen in the grassland area of rajbahra, has four grown up cubs (almost 2 years). She was just out on the road and barely there in this grass. Got a few other shots of her in the open, but like this composition, looks more in her habitat. With 4 – 5 vehicles around, shooting a tiger is not […]
